Armenian weightlifter Tatev Hakobyan has won the gold medal in International Qatar Cup, a qualification event for 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
This is another big win for her following the silver medal in U23 European Championship, Hakobyan, who competes in 87kg weight category, lifted 233kg combined to take the gold in Doha.
Another Armenian athlete, European and World champion Hakob Mkrtchyan competed in 96kg category for the first time in Doha and finished 7th with combined result of 355kg.
Today Armenia will be represented in Qatar Cup by heavy weight athletes Gor Minasyan and Ruben Aleksanyan.
