The Armenian weightlifters were invincible in the EWF Junior and U23 Weightlifting Championships in Bucharest. They took 11 medals and the 1st position in the team competition.

I tried to be in shape after the World Championship in September. We departed for training camp as soon as we came back to Armenia and prepared for the exam. We needed to lift serious weights and win.
I competed in 109kg weight category, as there was no competition in 102kg category and I would have won with significant difference. Thus, I decided to try a more complicated and Olympic weight category.
My competitor was experienced Spanish athlete Markus Ruiz, but I was able to win even though I participated in this weight category for the first time. There was a strong competition, but I assure you that he wouldn’t be able to defeat me, as I would have used the 3rd approach in snatch and lifted 220kg if needed.

I am finishing the year with a gold medal, which is motivating. Overall, I am not satisfied, as I could have taken better positions.
My goal for 2019 was becoming a World champion, but, unfortunately, I didn’t win that title. I am sure I will achieve that goal next time.
I will have a week of break when I come back to Armenia, and then I will continue training. I will participate in the World Cup in Qatar if coaches decide so, and if not, I will prepare for 2020.
