Armenian weightlifters entered the competition in the U15 - U17 European Championships in Kosovo. The very first day of the tournament turned out very successful for them.
Liana Gyurjyan (69kg) won 3 gold medals in the U15 girls’ competition.
She won by lifting 183kg, 18 more than runner-up Dilara Ucan (Turkey). Liana Gyurjyan registered 78kg in snatch and 105kg in clean and jerk, earning gold medals for both exercises.
Other members of the girls’ team, coached by Arman Ghazaryan, are Margarita Arakelyan and Aida Manukyan (75kg).
