Juventus, Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo has thanked fans for their messages of support for his mother.
The player’s mother Dolores Aveiro was taken to hospital for surgery after suffering a stroke. In 2019, she was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time. Mrs Aveiro also had a surgery in 2007.
“Thank you for all your messages of support for my mum. She is currently stable and recovering in hospital. Me and my family would like to thank the medical team looking after her, and kindly ask that we are all given some privacy at this time,” said Ronaldo.
He went to Madeira yesterday after learning about Mrs Aveiro’s stroke, while Juventus was getting ready for the Coppa Italia semi-final game against Milan. It has been announced today that the game will be postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
