Choice of sport: Davit’s father and uncle were wrestlers too: “I was a gymnast first. I had victories and won the 2nd place in the region, but I always knew I would become a wrestler. I wrestled all the time at home until age 10. My brother and I fought all day long.”
The most important achievement: World championship, although he thinks that medals are not the most important thing: “What matters is that you’re in sport. It makes you an exemplary man with no bad habits. That’s the most important achievement of sport, medals come second.”

He performed with the Russia national team until 2011. He became Champion of Russia, won gold medal at the European Youth Championship, and took the second place at the World Championship
