Within the framework of Paris-2024 series, we walked and talked with our weightlifter in the area of the Holy See of Etchmiadzin.

Most impressive career achievement: Becoming the Adult European champion and winning the gold medals of the Junior European Championship and National Championship.

The hardest moment in career:
Missing a medal at the Rio Olympics, and subsequently being unable to participate in further competitions due to the injury I sustained there.  If it weren’t for that fracture, my career would have taken a different course. Overcoming the disappointment was incredibly difficult.  At that point, I couldn’t even think about training again. At that time, even strangers wrote to me constantly, saying that they were praying for me, wishing a speedy recovery. Their support gave me strength and made me realize that I should resume training and continue to be useful to my country.

The return:
Exactly one year after the Olympics, I participated in the Student Games and lifted one kilogram less than what caused me to break my arm at the Olympic Games. Everything has passed, and I prefer not to dwell on the past. Now my focus is on upcoming performances I need to prepare for them diligently.
