Ferdinand Karapetyan to start competing for Olympic quota this month



Judokas start competing for Olympic quotas this month.

In the first qualification event of 2020, the Grand Prix in Tel Aviv, Armenia will be represented by Ferdinand Karapetyan (73 kg). He will head to Paris for the next qualification tournament afterwards.

 

The final list of athletes qualified for the Olympic Games will be released on May 25. Each weight category is going to feature up to 25 top-ranked athletes. Karapetyan currently ranks 32nd.

 

On January 15, the Armenian team attended an international training camp in Austria, which gathered over 1500 judokas from 67 countries.
