Armenian national judo team is holding a training camp in Yerevan.

Head coach Armen Nazaryan has told Mediamax Sport that since the team will miss the World Championship in Azerbaijan due to security concerns, the Armenian judokas will participate in other tournaments.

“We requested an official guarantee for safety from Azerbaijan, but they did not give it. We decided not to go. Our team will take part in a tournament in Chechnya this October instead. European champion Ferdinand Karapetyan and Arsen Ghazaryan will train with a different program,” said Nazaryan.

Karapetyan will travel to Germany after the training camp to prepare for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, scheduled for October 26. Afterwards, he will compete in Hague Grand Prix on November 10.
