Aronian’s first opponent in Tata Steel India is Hikaru Nakamura

Another stage of Grand Chess Tour, the Tata Steel India tournament kicks off today in Kolkata.

The players will compete in rapid games until November 24. In Round 1, Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian will play (with white pieces) against Hikaru Nakamura (USA).

The tournament also involved Viswanathan Anand (India), Magnus Carlsen (Norway), Ding Liren (China), Wesley So (USA), Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia), Anish Giri (the Netherlands), Vidit Gujrathi and Pentala Harikrishna (India).

Blitz games will be held on November 25-26.
