The grandmaster has played two games so far, drawing with Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France) and Anish Giri (the Netherlands).
Aronian and 10 other players have earned a point each. They are all behind the leader, Viswanathan Anand (India), by half point.
In Round 3, Aronian will be playing against Anand.
