Yekaterinburg (Russia) is hosting the World Boxing Championship that features 365 athletes.
Armenia was represented by one boxer on the opening day of the championship. Arman Darchinyan (75kg) faced Mark Dickinson (England) in the qualifying stage and won 5-0 with notable advantage in all rounds.
Darchinyan is one of 8 athletes who represent Armenia in the championship. His teammates are Artur Hovhannisyan (52kg), Arik Petrosyan (57kg), Hovhannes Bachkov (63kg), Koryun Astoyan (69kg), Artush Hovhannisyan (81kg), Henrik Sargsyan (91kg) and Gurgen Hovhannisyan (91kg). They will enter into the competition later.
