The opening ceremony of the World Boxing Championships has taken place in Yekaterinburg.
365 athletes from 78 countries will participate in the event. Armenia will be represented by 8 boxers, 1 of whom will perform today at the qualifications stage.
Arman Darchinyan will compete against Mark Dickinson (England) in 75kg weight category.
Erik Petrosyan will compete in under 57kg weight category against Robin Basran (Canada), and Koryun Astoyan – against Singh Negi (India) in 69kg weight category. Artush Hovhannisyan –against Artjom Kasparian (Holand) in 81kg weight category.
Artur Hovahannisyan (52kg), Hovhannes Bachkov (63kg), Henrik Sargsyan (91kg) and Gurgen Hovhannisyan (super heavyweight) will also represent Armenia in the tournament.
