In the event, held in Kazan, he defeated the representative from the Philippines Alvin Lagumbay in the second round and won his first belt in professional boxing.
Narek Abgaryan has also competed in this tournament; he defeated Uzbek Shahzodbek Sharobiddinov in the 8-round competition.
