We are going to have very important meetings, since everyone should understand the harm that prohibited substances may cause. International Olympic Committee (IOC) pays special attention to proving justice in sports. Fight against doping is one of the main directions of United World Wrestling  (UWW) as well. There were certain changes of rules in 2016, so I am here to use our educational program to explain athletes and coaches each and every nuance.

Educated athletes are less likely to use prohibited substances. In case of violations, Wrestling Federation of Armenia will be fined (CHF 20k), while depending on the number of athletes involved and efficiency of the used substances the disqualification may be relevant for up to 1 year.

Armenian National Anti-Doping Organization attaches special importance to similar programs. Initially, we wanted to organize a joint seminar with International Wrestling Federation and International Weightlifting Federation, but we did not receive s response from the latter. We are closely cooperating with UWW, intending to keep this sport transparent.

UNESCO’s Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport provided us with a grant, which we used to organize the event, elaborate and translate guide books to be distributed to sportsmen and sports schools.

We should put all efforts possible to keep sports transparent and organizing educational programs, meeting with athletes and coaches is very important in that pursuit.
