Armenia will be represented by a reduced squad in 2017 World Wrestling Championship on August 21-26 in Paris.
Head coach Habetnak Kurghinyan told Mediamax Sport that he decided to take only those athletes who are ready for a big tournament such as that.
“I believe only the athletes we’re 100% ready should participate. World Championship is a serious competition, only the strongest perform there. That is why I left out certain athletes,” Kurghinyan said.
Armenia team now comprises Garik Barseghyan (57kg), Volodya Frangulyan (61kg), Grigor Grigoryan (74kg), Georgi Ketoev (97kg), and Levan Berianidze (125kg).
