Armenian national freestyle wrestling team is holding training camp in Tsaghkadzor from June 21 to July 5.
Acting Head Coach of the team Hapetnak Kurghinyan told Mediamax Sport that 26 athletes were involved in the training camp.
“We will compete in Ali Aliyev Tournament on July 6, Kaspiysk. I will not name any athlete now, as the training camp still continues. I will choose 5 athletes after the camp,” he said.
According to Kurghinyan, they are planning to have a joint training camp with the Russian or Georgian team before the World Championship on August 21-26, Paris.
Kurghinyan noted that by replacing Head Coach Armen Mkrtchyan (in Armenian) this month, he undertook a really responsible and tough job.
“Being a coach is not the easiest work, but fortunately I have reliable and good people by my side, always ready to help me. It is impossible to lead a team all alone. First of all, you need to be impartial and fair to choose the best athletes for each competition,” he added.
