Tokyo has concluded the 2017 Junior World Weightlifting Championships, and Olympic silver medalist and European champion Simon Martirosyan took the gold with 426kg of total result.
The Armenian athlete first won the gold in snatch and clean and jerk exercises in heavyweight category. He lifted 191kg in the first one and 235 in the latter.
Another Armenia representative Arpine Dalanyan (90+kg) also finished performing and took the 4th place.
Earlier, Samvel Gasparyan (105kg) and Sona Poghosyan (75kg) both won the bronze in their respective categories.
