8 Armenian weightlifters to compete in qualifying World Championship

On April 3-10, Thailand will host IWF Youth World Weightlifting Championships, where Armenia will be represented by an 8-men team.

Manager of the Armenia team Eduard Kizoghyan told Mediamax Sport that currently, the team is holding a training camp in Abovyan after similar one in Tsaghkadzor.

The Armenian athletes, who will compete for Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games quotas, are Khachik Harutyunyan (56kg), Babken Bagratyan (62kg), Armen Grigoryan and Rafik Harutyunyan (69kg), Youth European champion Karen Margaryan and Tigran Amiryan (77kg), Yasha Minasyan and Arsen Dadayan (94kg).

“We’ll try to fight for the 2 possible quotas. The training was good, so we’ll continue doing what we’re doing, and we’ll go to the competition venue on April 1,” said Kizoghyan.
