The Armenia women’s weightlifting team will compete with three athletes in the European Championship.

The team’s manager Artashes Nersisyan told Mediamax Sport that the team is now training in Tsaghkadzor.

“We’ll finish the training on March 19, and the girls will go on preparing for the competition with their coaches. In early April we’ll travel to Croatia, where we’ll participate in the European Championship,” Nersisyan said.

The three Armenian participants are Izabella Yaylyan (58kg), Sona Poghosyan (75kg) and Tatev Hakobyan (90kg).

“Unfortunately, most of our athletes are still in junior category. That is why we have only a few participants of the seniors’ competition this year. We’ll have more sportswomen for the qualifying competitions in 2018,” he said.
