Arsenal started Europa League 1/16 final with a victory in the first match.
Östersund lost 0:3 to Wenger’s athletes. The first goal was scored by Nacho Monreal. Later Henrikh Mkhitaryan kicked the ball which appeared in the gates after hitting Swedish defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos.
Mesut Ozil scored the third goal of the team with Mkhitaryan’s assist.
“He has worked very hard, I think it was a positive performance. He adapts slowly to the team. He had a positive game,” Wenger said of Mkhitaryan after the match.
The coach noted that they won’t stop putting efforts after the victory and will try to achieve a positive result getting the advantage in the return match as well.
The return match will take place on February 22.
