Amsterdam Arena is renamed after Johan Cruyff

Amsterdam administration decided to rename some of the streets and squares after legendary football player Johan Cruyff.

Ajax management stated that from now on, Amsterdam Arena will be called Johan Cruyff Arena.

Cruyff won 9 Dutch Championships and 1 Spanish Cup. He won La Liga 4 times and Copa del Rey once as Barcelona manager. He was awarded Ballon d’Or 3 times.

Johan Cruyff died in 2016, aged 69, after a long illness.
