In 2016, Henrikh Mkhitaryan won his 6th consecutive Armenia’s Football Player of the Year award.

Mkhitaryan is currently in Yerevan, training with the national team ahead of the game against Kazakhstan on March 26.

I’m happy to win the award again. It will enhance me in the future.

I always said that being recognized as Armenia’s best footballer is a great honour, but not a goal for me. I have bigger goals, and I’m moving towards them.

It’s important to do something for my country, bring Armenia recognition worldwide. For that purpose I play very carefully and try to do everything to ensure a good game.

I missed the Premier League with Middlesbrough because of a minor injury. The manager and I decided it was better for me not to play so that I don’t aggravate it. I feel great now and I think I’ll be 100% ready for the game with Kazakhstan.

We’re training hard for the upcoming game, and we all understand its importance. We must give our best and play for the win.

Our team is devoted in every game. Bad matches happen, but we always come out on the pitch to win.

Our rival is strong, so we need to be prepared. We haven’t fully studied the Kazakhstan team’s game, but we have time and the manager will explain everything.

The young players are the future of our national team. It reached the point when we need to include young players. They need to be here and say, we can replace you any time.

Life is worth nothing without challenges. Any person should be ready to overcome them. I also had difficulties, but I worked hard, got my chance and used it.
