Fabiano Caruana tops the Candidates Tournament table

The Candidates Tournament has seen a change of leader after the fourth round.

Although Vladimir Kramnik was in a favorable position early in the game, Fabiano Caruana managed to turn things around and win. The USA representative’s victory took his point tally to 3 and placed him top of the table.

Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian has also improved his position. After defeating Sergey Karjakin, Aronian shares places 4-6. The second and third places are occupied by Kramnik and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, who have 2.5 points each.

Round 5 will be held today. Levon Aronian will play with Alexander Grischuk.
