Gibraltar Open has finished and Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian has won the main tournament.

He didn’t start the competition that well but won several key games later and caught up with the leaders. Finally, he drew with Hikaru Nakamura (USA) in the last round, and the winner was to be decided in the tie-break.

Aronian first beat Richard Rapport (Hungary) and then recorded a beautiful win over Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France), which secured him the first place.
