World Chess Championship 2018 to take place in London

El Pais reports that the World Chess Championship 2018 will take place in London.

Earlier, Japan, South Korea and Singapore placed bids for the event.

The competitor for acting world champion Magnus Carlsen will be decided in the Candidates Tournament, scheduled for March 10-28 in Berlin.

Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian will be competing in the Candidates Tournament, as he qualified for it by winning the FIDE World Cup.
