Altibox Norway Chess Tournament kicked off yesterday in Stavanger, with 10 grandmasters involved in the competition.
The tournament began with Blitz games. Armenia representative Levon Aronian took the third place with 5.5 points.
Magnus Carlsen took the first place with 7.5 points, while Hikaru Nakamura was the second (5.5 points).
The pairings for Classic games were formed according to those results. Aronian will play against Fabiano Caruana in the first round today.
