Armenian boxer Azat Hovhannisyan won the WBC Continental Americas Super Bantamweight Title in the fight against Sergio Frias (Mexico).

Hovhannisyan left no chance for his opponent, dominating the fight from the very first moments. He managed to maintain the lead throughout all 10 rounds.

The boxer won 100:90, 100:90, 98:92 with a unanimous decision.

“We’re very happy to get this big belt. This has been years in the making and I fought in the ring with basically one hand as I fractured my right hand. The swelling reappeared during the fight. Frias was a tough opponent, but we put in the work to get the win,” said Hovhannisyan.

In July of 2016, Sergio Frias defeated Vic Darchinyan with a knockout.
