Maksim Manukyan is World Champion



August 22 is the second day of Greco-Roman wrestling competition within World Wrestling Championship in Paris.

Two Armenian wrestlers were fighting for medals on the second competition day. Maksim Manukyan (80 kg) was able to win gold medal.

With his perfect and confident performance and new maneuvers, Maksim did not leave a single chance to his competitor from Belarus Radik Kuliev in the final.

He won 5:0 in the first round of the competition. Maksim was able to defend correctly and defeat his competitor in the second round as well. He won the first in his career gold medal and second medal for Armenian national team in this World Championship.
 
Manukyan fought with athletes from Iran, Switzerland, Germany and Georgia.

Karen Aslanyan (under 66 kg) lost to his competitor from Russia Artem Surkov in the fight for the bronze medal.
