4 Armenian wrestlers to compete in Junior World Championship today

Today is the second competitive day for freestyle wrestlers in the Junior World Championship in Tampere, Finland.

Two Armenian athletes will start competing in the qualifying round and two others will begin from 1/8 finals.

In 1/8 finals, European bronze medalist Arsen Harutyunyan (55kg) will face Petru Craciun (Moldova) and silver medalist of European Championship Hovhannes Maghakyan(120kg) will wrestle with Adilbek Botabek (Kazakhstan).

In the qualifying round, Gevorg Mkheyan (66kg) and Hovhannes Mkhitaryan (84kg) are to compete with Stefan Tonu (Moldova) and Samuel Scherrer (Swirzerland) respectively.

Avetik Vardanyan’s men won a medal yesterday, as European Championship’s bronze medalist Karen Zurabyan (50kg) took the silver.
