Armenia representative Andranik Karapetyan took part in the U23 European Weightlifting Championship.
He was successful in the 85kg category, winning his first gold medal after recovering from the serious injury sustained at Rio Olympics. Karapetyan took the first place with overall result of 360kg.
The Armenian athlete was unbeaten in snatch, lifting 170kg and taking the gold for the exercise. The 2016 European champion also won silver for clean and jerk, lifting 190kg.
Yesterday other Armenia representatives won medals as well: Sona Poghosyan (75kg) won the gold medal and Davit Hovhannisyan (85kg in U20) took the silver. Izabella Yaylyan (58kg) won the bronze medal earlier.
