Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been training extra time to regain his place in Manchester United’s starting XI.

Manchester Evening News reports that the Armenian footballer puts in additional hours between trainings with the team.

Mkhitaryan was left out of United’s three latest games and hasn’t started since the defeat to Chelsea on November 5.

Last week Jose Mourinho criticized Mkhitaryan, which only reinforced his resolution to work harder.

“I was not happy with his last performances. I’m not speaking about one or two, I’m speaking about three, four or five. He started the season very well and after that, step by step, he was disappearing. His performance levels in terms of goal scoring and assists, high pressing, recovering the ball high up the pitch, bringing the team with him as a No.10, were decreasing step by step,” said Mourinho.
