Armenian club Pyunik has passed the first qualifying round of Europa League by beating Macedonian FK Vardar 0-2.

Both goals came courtesy of Bacar Baldé, who scored in the 85th and 88th minutes.

Pyunik manager Andrei Talalayev said after the game that the team delivered on the promise to play better in the second leg.

“I want to thank my players who fulfilled their tasks so well. They were patient and used their chances. Big changes are happening in Armenian football. Our club is moving forward step by step. I will be happy to make another. Our next opponent is Tobol from Kazakhstan, and they play with 5 defenders. Clearly, they will play cautiously,” Pyunik’s official website quotes the manager.
