Aronian to compete against Nakamura in 1st round of tournament in Kolkata

The opening ceremony of Tata Steel Chess India Tournament took place yesterday in Kolkata.

The company that organized the first event of this scale in India is convinced that it will be an unforgettable experience for chess players and amateurs of this discipline as well.

Pairings of the first 3 rounds of rapid chess will be held today. Levon Aronian will compete against Hikaru Nakamura and then Nihal Sarin and Viswanathan Anand.

Rapid and blitz pairings will be held in round-robin format, prize fund is USD 40,000.
