Armenian men’s and women’s teams registered victories in the first round of Chess Olympiad 2018 in Batumi.
The men’s team was stronger 3.5:0.5 than Japanese team. The winners were Hrant Melkumyan, Hayk Martirosyan and Robert Hovhannisyan. Gabriel Sargsyan drew.
The women’s team won in competition with Kyrgyzstan with the same indicator. The winners were Elina Danielyan, Anna Sargsyan and Siranush Ghukasyan. Maria Kursova scored 0.5 point.
