Armenia chess teams failed to win medals in the European Team Chess Championship in Crete.

Men’s team drew 2-2 with Serbia in Round 9 without Levon Aronian. Armenian grandmaster, ranked 2nd by FIDE, got the best individual results and was awarded a gold medal.

The team earned 10 points in total and finished 12th. The winner of ETCC is Azerbaijan with 14 points. Russia’s men’s team gained the same amount of points and took the silver.

Armenia’s women’s team lost 0,5-3,5 to the eventual winners, Russia team. Russian players earned 17 points. Armenia team earned 11 points in total and finished 9th.
