European Championship: Aleksanyan to participate in the 1th competition after Rio-2016

The Armenian Greco-Roman wrestling team continues training camps in Belarus, preparing for the European Championship.

Head coach of the team Levon Julfalakyan told Mediamax Sport reporter about the control trainings today.

“The coaches decided today to send Artur Aleksanyan for completion in 98 kg category of the European Championship. The wrestlers, including Artur, are overall well-prepared. Of course, there are some issues, but one cannot escape them in wrestling,” Julfalakyan said.

The Armenian team holds joint trainings with the French and Belorussian teams at Olympic Sports Complex Stayki. The team will depart for European Championship on May 4.

Levon Julfalakyan reported earlier that the athletes to represent Armenia in Novi Sad are Gevorg Gharibyan (59kg), Karen Aslanyan (66kg), Rafael Aleksanyan (71kg), Karapet Chalyan (75kg), Sargis Kocharyan (80kg) and Maksim Manukyan (85kg).
