St. Louis tournament completes nine rounds of blitz

The Grand Chess Tour’s St. Louis Rapid & Blitz tournament is nearing the end. The rapid competition ended and the blitz games kicked off yesterday.

After nine rounds, Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian has the record of two wins, six draws, and a defeat in the last round.

 

He is sitting 5th with 14 points. The leaders are Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan) and Hikaru Nakamura (USA), both of whom have 17 points.

 

The final nine games will be played today.
