World Team Chess Championship: Armenian team starts with defeat

The first round of World Team Chess Championship games took place today. The World Team Chess Championship started in Tsakhkadzor yesterday.

The Armenian men’s chess team competed with the team of Israel. Levon Aronian completed the first round sharing the points with Boris Gelfand.

Gabriel Sargsyan-Emil Sutovsky and Sergey Movsisyan-Ilya Smirin also played to a tie. Vladimir Hakobyan who was playing with white pieces was the only in the Armenian team to lose not managing to win or draw Maxim Rodshtein.

Thus, Armenian chess players lost 1.5-2.5.
